Our story

Built on a Simple Belief: You Deserve an Expert in Your Corner

Tax problems don't announce themselves at convenient times. An IRS notice arrives on a Friday afternoon. A business audit drops in the middle of your busiest quarter. A missed filing from three years ago suddenly becomes a collection action. These moments are stressful — and they're exactly why Lightning Tax Pros exists.

After years of watching individuals and small business owners navigate the IRS alone — often making costly mistakes or settling for less than they deserved — I built this practice around one principle: every taxpayer deserves a credentialed professional who knows the tax code, understands IRS procedures, and will fight for the best possible outcome.

As an Enrolled Agent, I hold the highest credential the IRS awards to tax professionals. Unlike general accountants or tax preparers, Enrolled Agents specialize exclusively in taxation and are federally authorized to represent clients before the IRS in all 50 states. That specialization is what sets Lightning Tax Pros apart — and what gives our clients confidence when it matters most.  After serving the Tampa, Florida area for the last 5 years, I am ready to open my practice to all 50 states and give every client the expertise and attention they deserve.                                                                                                                  Nolan Tanner,                                                                                                               Enrolled Agent                                                                                                                Owner, Lightning Tax Pros

Credentials & qualifications

What Enrolled Agent Status Really Means

The Enrolled Agent designation is earned through a rigorous three-part IRS examination covering individual taxation, business taxation, and representation procedures — or through a distinguished career with the IRS itself. EAs are then subject to ongoing continuing education requirements to maintain their status. It is the only credential issued directly by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
